Metal Font Generator
Heavy, spiky lettering for band logos, album covers and merch.
A metal font generator turns your band name or title into heavy metal lettering. Type your text, choose one of 6 metal fonts, from spiky blackletter to dripping death metal, then add chrome, fire or blood-red effects. It suits band logos, album covers, gig posters and merch.
Metal lettering styles
- Heavy metal: Metal Mania has the sharp, spiked blackletter look of classic 80s metal logos.
- Black metal: UnifrakturMaguntia and Pirata One give a dark, medieval feel.
- Death metal: Nosifer and Butcherman drip and splinter, close to gory death metal logos.
- Thrash and hardcore: Black Ops One has a hard, stencilled military edge.
How to make a metal band logo
- Type your band name into the text box.
- Choose a metal font below the generator.
- Use silver, white or red on black, and add an outline or shadow for a chrome or 3D effect. A gradient from silver to dark grey gives a quick metallic finish.
- Download the logo with Pro for covers, shirts and posters.
Tips for metal lettering
Real death metal logos are usually hand-drawn and often unreadable on purpose. A font is a good starting point for a demo cover, a gig poster or a shirt mock-up, and an illustrator can add the spikes and symmetry later.
